What is the effect on the graph of the function f(x) = |x| when f(x) is changed to f(x + 9)?
A) shifts right by 9 units
B) shifts left by 9 units
C) shifts up by 9 units
Eliminate
D) shifts down by 9 units

Respuesta :

The answer is A) shifts right by 9 units

when y or f(x) equals x then it's a straight line at the origin. if f(x+9) = |x|
f(x) = |x+9|
if you set that equal to zero then X= -9
so shifting over to the left is the right choice I think
