According to greenleaf, the best measure of servant leadership is if the people who follow the leader are being cared for by the leader.

In a servant leadership role, the leader is the head of the 'tribe' or organization. The individuals below the one leader do as the leader says and serves the leader but, need to be well cared for in doing so. The person serving the leader typically has a calling to serve and thats the sole reason they do it.
