how do political scientists gather data. quantify data, analyze data statistically, and attempt to validate (or invalidate) hypotheses

Respuesta :

Political scientists usually carry out research studies in order to prove or to predict a future occurrence. During the studies, they collect, analyze and manipulate data in order to obtain data result that are support generalization. If the frequency of the generalization obtained is high [that is, if other scientist get similar results], then a theory can be developed from the generalization.
