the system is referred to as immune system. the immune system is made of network of cells, proteins, tissues and organs that work in coordination in an attempt to protect the body. the type of cells involved are called white blood cells also known as leukocytes. immune system has the ability to detect a wide range of agents referred to as antigens such as viruses, bacteria among others. after this detection, it thereafter launches a defense mechanism to clear them from the body.
