The answer would be .5mL.

You are required to give 500 units from a 1,000 units/1mL.

You will put "how much you need to give" over "how much on hand" and multiply it by how many mL's you have.

500 / 1000 = .5

So, you would give the patient 0.5mL of Heparin SQ.
