Imagine you are reading a journal written by a woman during the time of the American Civil War. If you were to use this as historical evidence, why would it be important to know which side the writer supported in the conflict? A) To understand why she would keep a journal. B) To understand if the source is promary or secondary. C) To understand the authenticity of the source. D) To understand the writer's potential bias.

D - to understand the writer's potential bias.

Obviously being on either side of the war would skew the information that would have been written in the journal. For that reason, knowing on which side the woman was would improve and help us to know whether she was subject to any bias.
