I have been living in these hard times. Their trying to build an effigy of King George using our revenue that we worked so hard to work for. We tried to use a boycott to try and get a resolution to the statue, but it was repealed right away.
In the American colonies , the British needed revenue to come to an resolution for the sugar and stamp act to protest effigy for the act and boycott everyone to buy British goods and repealed the law .
The British needed revenue to help pay for the troops and they were already in debt, because of this parliament decided that colonists needed to pay part of the costs and started issuing new taxes on new colonies. This led to the sugar and stamp act. Many of the people were not ready to accept the act and they asked the parliament to charge instead of this and pass a resolution to give rights and lay taxes on its citizens . To protest the stamp act protesters burned effigies. People urged merchants to boycott and not buy any British goods to help with protest. After all of this on March 1766, Parliament repealed the law .
