Adrenocorticotropic hormone - Produced by the pituitary
gland; responsible for stimulating the ADRENAL GLANDS (which than release other
hormones critical to the stress response) ACTH. Pituitary gland releases adrenocorticotropic
hormone (ACTH). ACTH acts on adrenal
cortex and adrenal cortex releases cortisol.
