The cognitive change that has occurred was from sensorimotor to preoperational. It is because in preoperational stage, a child will likely think the object to be more permanent or show value to it rather than sensorimotor in which the child doesn’t necessarily give any meaning or interest to a toy. Julia is in the second stage of Piaget’s theory in the cognitive development.
