There are 4 fifith grade classes in school. Each class has 24 students. For each gym period, two fifth grade classes take gym together. there are 10 periods in all during a week. What information is not needed to figure out how many total students take a gym period together?

The part you don't need is "there are 10 periods in all during a week" because once you read the first two sentences you can tell you just need to do 24 x 2 which equals 48.
