Liberties has a different definition than losses. They can be alike because they are both nouns.

The words liberties and losses are alike because:

  • Both are nouns.
  • Both are plural nouns.
  • Both start with the letter L and ends with S.

They are different because:

  • One comes from the singular noun liberty; whereas the other one from the singular noun loss.
  • The number of their syllables differs. Liberties has three, whereas losses has two.
  • Their meaning is also different: liberties refers to the state of being free from oppressive behavior, whereas losses refers to losing something or someone.
