Christopher Columbus sailed for India. On the search for exotic spices and looking forward to meeting new people.

Columbus's goal was to explore the western route to India, China and the spice islands of Asia. He discovered the Bahamas, which he assumed was Spain. Later on, he landed on Cuba, which he thought to be mainland China.
