A diagnostic test in which contrast material is inserted into the bladder through a catheter and x-rays taken as the patient urinates is abbreviated: is called retrograde cystography.
Retrograde means backward and cystography mean to visualize urinary bladder. This examination is used to visualize bladder when there is some obstruction in the urethra. Since a catheter can't be put on through there so it's inserted to bladder directly.
