Ethan bought 2 1/5 pounds of ham, 3 3/5 pounds of turkey, and 4 1/10
pounds of salami for sandwiches. what is the total amount of meat that Ethan bought for sandwiches? is the students answer reasonable?

Ethan bought 9.9 pounds of meat (2.2+3.6+4.1) I would say this is reasonable.

the student is wrong because if you do 
2(1/5) + 3(3/5) + 4(1/10) it all equals up to 2.6
