A truck stopped at a weigh station along the highway. The sign read "Maximum weight 40.3" the truck weighed in at 40.09 tons. Is the trucks weight greater than the maximum weight?

No, the truck is not greater than the maximum weight. If you were to round the truck's weight, it would be 40.1 which is still less than 40.3
