What is a saturated solution?

A saturated solution is defined by the mixture of the maximum solute dissolved in the solvent to make the solution. They are said to be equivalent as the rate of the dissolution of the solute particles is equal to the precipitation of the solute in the solution.

If more amounts of the solute in a saturated solution are added then results in their deposition at the bottom. No more solute can be added as the solvent will not be able to dissolve more solute than itself.

Therefore, in a saturated solution, the solute remains constant with respect to the solvent.
