One of the major impediment to any u.s. action to reduce its carbon emissions as a means of reducing climate change is the fragmented nature of the U.S. political system.
What is Carbon emissions?
Carbon emissions is defined as the type of air pollution that occurs when there is emission of green house gases into the air following the use of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gases.
The disadvantages of carbon emissions include the following:
- It is the main cause of human-induced climate change,
- it contributes to urban air pollution,
- it leads to toxic acid rain,
- it adds to coastal and ocean acidification, and
- it worsens the melting of glaciers and polar ice.
It is to the best interest of the government of a country to set rules and regulations that would limit the release of these gases.
The United States have a fragmented government with different political ambitions and this can negatively affect any action that may have been out forward for the reduction of carbon emissions.
