The immediate sanctions should be asper my opinion use of boot camp.
I agree that the practice of "boot camp" should be eliminated as an intermediate sanction because, as a member of the military, I enlisted in order to be thrown around in boot camp.
Crimes were not committed by those who should have been subjected to the same strain as the military.
I am aware that younger people who have committed less serious crimes are the intended audience for this type of rehabilitation, but other types of intermediate punishments might be more effective and have a more positive impact on juvenile offenders than a "boot camp." There are others also that should be used frequently.
