The opening of Solace A Mexican Serenade is a very beautiful piece. It's hard to believe that the form of Solace is based on a march.
(A), which is in the key of A major, is in a 3/4 meter that resembles a waltz. There are a few playful moments thrown in among the overall peace and serenity of this segment. More energetic and animated is the second portion
(B), which is in the key of D major. Long after you've finished listening to the tune, the melody will stick in your head. My favorite section is the third
(C), which is in the key of G major. It has a little creepy vibe to it and is incredibly lovely and frightening. The first portion is repeated in the fourth and last section
(D), which is in the key of A major. Simply said, as lovely as it was the first time.
I heartily urge anyone who appreciates lovely music to listen to Solace: A Mexican Serenade. You'll want to listen to this song several times over.
