The equation (1) becomes,

x+y=37

y=37-x.......(3)

Putting (3) in (2) we have,

4x+3(37-x)=125

4x+111-3x=125

x=14

Putting the value of x in (3) we have,

y=37-14=23

The price of black and white brouches is $14

The price of color brouchers is $23.
