Jermaine fills his water bottle 5/6 of the way to bring to tennis practice. He drinks 3/5of the water he brought with him. How much of his bottle did Jermaine drink?

Respuesta :

7/30

1) To find out that, we need to subtract 3/5 from 5/6

2) Since the denominators are not the same, then we have to proceed with taking the LCM of (6,5) decomposing it by prime factors.

2.2) Now with the new denominator: 30 we can write out:

[tex]\frac{30\colon6\times5)}{30}-\frac{(30\colon5\times3)}{30}=\frac{25}{30}-\frac{18}{30}=\frac{7}{30}[/tex]

Then Jermaine drank 7/30 of the water
