To calculate the slope of a line that passes through two given points you have to use the following formula

m is the slope
(x₁,y₁) are the coordinates of one of the points
(x₂,y₂) are the coordinates of the second point
For the points (-3,5) and (4,-3) you can calculate the slope as follows
