Given the table which represents a proportional relationship
The general form for a proportional relationship is :

Where k is the constant of the proportionality
As shown in the table :
when a = 2 , y = 2/3
And when a = 3 , y = 1
It is better to substitute with the second row
[tex]\begin{gathered} a=3\rightarrow y=1 \\ \\ 1=k\cdot3 \\ \\ k=\frac{1}{3} \end{gathered}[/tex]
So, the equation will be :
[tex]y=\frac{1}{3}a[/tex]
