to use distributive property, we simly need to multiply what's outside the bracket with what's inside the bracket.
[tex]\begin{gathered} (y+6)4 \\ \text{ } \end{gathered}[/tex]multiply 4 by y and 6
[tex]\begin{gathered} (y+6)4 \\ (4\times y)+(6\times4) \\ 4y+24 \end{gathered}[/tex]the answer is 4y + 24
