- The motor will not be the answer since it transforms electrical energy (in the case of an electric motor) into mechanical (The opposite of the object we are looking for).
- A turbine is similar, transforming the energy of the fuel or the gas into mechanical energy. Additionally it does not use coils of wire, nor magnets.
- An electromagnet uses coils of wire and recieves electrical energy, however it does not transform it into mechanical energy, nor recieves it.
The answer is the last option: a generator. It recieves mechanical energy to a shaft, which rotates. This rotation promotes the interaction between the coil and the magnets and generates electrical energy.
