Emily rode her bike 2/3 miles from the school to the library. When she left the library she rode another 1/4 miles to the store. How far Emily ride her bike?

First lenght = 2/3 miles

2nd lenght = 1/4 miles

Then

Lenght ride in bike = (2/3 + 1/4) miles

. = (2•4 + 3•1)/ (3•4) = (8+3)/12 = 11/12 miles

Emily rode 11/12 miles = 0.916 miles
