The volume of a sphere of radius r can be calculated as:

The sphere in the figure has a radius of r = 12 cm. Calculate the volume:
[tex]V=\frac{4}{3}\pi12^3[/tex]
Approximating the value of π = 3:
[tex]V=\frac{4}{3}(3)12^3[/tex]
The value of 12 cubed is 12*12*12 = 1728. Substituting:
[tex]\begin{gathered} V=\frac{4}{3}(3)(1728) \\ \text{Calculating:} \\ V=6912 \end{gathered}[/tex]
The volume of the sphere is 6912 cubic cm
