The basic function is;

When the function is transformed to;

Then, this is as a results of m-units vertical stretch and +b is vertical shift upward.
Vertical stretch:
When we multiply a function by a positive constant, we get a function whose graph is stretched or compressed vertically in relation to the graph of the original function. Thus, x is multiplied by a positive constant m, then it is vertical stretched.
