Respuesta :

In a lottery game individual has to select a sequence of three digit in which each digit is selcted from 0 to 9 digits. In the sequence of three digits, repetition of digits are allowed.

So each place of sequnce is filled by 10 number (from 0 to 9). So possible number of sequence for three digits sequence are,

[tex]10\cdot10\cdot10=1000[/tex]

Answer: 1000

(b)

An individual wins if the sequence of three digits are same.

The selection of three digit sequence is done one by one digit and probability for selection each digit is 1/10. So probability for winning is,

[tex]\begin{gathered} P\text{ (winning)=}\frac{1}{10}\cdot\frac{1}{10}\cdot\frac{1}{10} \\ =\frac{1}{1000} \\ =0.001 \end{gathered}[/tex]

Answer: 0.001
