The difference between normative reasoning and empirical reasoning is very similar to the difference between logical inconsistencies and contradictions.

Empirical reasoning to refer to the reasoning involved in acquiring this type of knowledge that is, to any instance of reasoning in which the premises are justified directly by observation.
Logical inconsistencies are statements that contradict each other. Logical inconsistencies are thoughts, arguments, or reasoning that are not consistent.
