Comparison Seminal U.S. texts often center on the themes of rights and freedom. Compare the ideas in King's letter with those in President Franklin Roosevelt's seminal "Four Freedoms" speech (See page R22).
1. As you read Roosevelt's speech and reread King's letter, make notes about how they both address related themes and equivalent concepts.
2. Write an essay in which you explain how the two documents explore people's fundamental human rights and what the two authors want done to end the injustice.
