What did he mean by this?

It was a way for Adolf Hitler to not take responsibility for his action and the people involved.  He basically implies that because people were jews and practiced the religion that it was their fault because they did so.   Therefore, implying that they should have not been jewish.  And because they were, that they were "Killing themselves".  I hope this makes sense in a way.
