Answer:

(btw I gave them names, go see the pictures to see what I mean)

(a) = 38.5 ft

(b) = 21 ft

(c) = 87.6 ft

(d) = 40.56 ft

(e) = 69.3 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

(Note: I highly recommend looking at the picture and the pictures that I attached, the pictures give an even better solution than the one I wrote because I cannot write some values here. Once again, I recommend you check the photos I attached.)

(a to b, simple triangular phytagorean theorem)

(a) assuming 7.3 ft also aplies to the bottom side

7.3 - 3.8 = 3.5

Add 3.5 to the other 3.5

=7.0

use phytagorean theorem

[tex]11^{2} +7^{2} =c^{2}[/tex]

121 + 49 = 170

[tex]\sqrt{c^{2} } =\sqrt{170}[/tex]

c = 13.04 ft

Formula for area:

7 ft x 11 ft = 77ft

Divide it by 2

[tex]\frac{77ft}{2}[/tex]

= 38.5 ft

(b) Same as before, use phytagorean theorem

[tex]a^{2} +b^{2} =c^{2}[/tex]

[tex]12^{2} +3.5^{2} =c^{2}[/tex]

144 + 12.25 = 156.25

[tex]\sqrt{c^{2} } =\sqrt{156.25}[/tex]

c = 12.5

Formula for area:

[tex]\frac{ab}{2}[/tex]

3.5 ft x 12 ft = 42 ft

42 ft ÷ 2 = 21 ft

= 21 ft

(c, simple find area for rectangle)

area for rectangle:

= length x width

= 7.3 x 12 = 87.6

= 87.6 ft

(d to e, this is where we find the area for trapezoids)

(d)

area for trapezoid

[tex]\frac{a+b}{2} h[/tex]

(3.6 + 12) ÷ 2 x 5.2 = 40.56

= 40.56 ft

(e)

3.8 + 5.2 = 9.0

area for trapezoid

[tex]\frac{a+b}{2} h[/tex]

(4.4 + 11) ÷ 2 x 9 = 69.3

= 69.3 ft

Hope this helps!
