Sociology and psychology are the two different branches related with the study of science that deal with different aspects like human behavior and human interventions.
Both the concepts of sociology and psychology are inter-related, and the outputs of each of the studies can be applied to the other fields to bring variety to the study of both the fields.
Sociology and Psychology
- Sociology is more concerned with the study of science relating to the social phenomenon like social human interaction, societal organization, societal culture, etc.
- The study of science in the field of sociology is mostly related by taking the whole society as the subject of study and analyzing the results obtained thereof.
- Psychology, on the other hand, is related to study of science in the field of a human behavior and changes in the reactions of a person with respect to changing situations and analyzing the results thereof.
- Psychological science is concerned mainly with the study of individuals and is a micro economical study as it does not take into account the entire society's data.
Hence, the main difference between sociology and psychology is that former is the study of scientific data of the entire society whereas the latter is considered as study of individuals.
