When the economic growth of a country increases the rate of poverty in the country will decrease. This is because, economy = more money for the government, & when the government has more money they can use it to spend more for the needs of the poor people by providing basic facilities, more pension etc. Thus, the poverty will reduce in the country. This is visible & proved in developed countries like USA, Japan, South Korea etc.
