Honestly, I believe she deserved it because she challenged Athena to a weaving contest yet Arachne thought she was better than a goddess. She laughed at her and said she would show her a thing or two knowing she was challenging the Goddess
Yes!! Arachne was so beyond foolish and arrogant in challenging a goddess of Athena’s caliber… Greek gods are the mortals superiors. Mortals are powerless and are born to die. Rather than challenging Athena, she should have prayed to Athena and thanked her for her gifts. Arachne’s pride got to her head and she deserved to be humbled.
