According to Gladwell, the factors that influence success are;

  1. Opportunity, this can be seen as special opportunities given to successful people (promising people) so as to ne more successful.
  2. Legacy, cultural legacies that influence our success or failure.
  3. Upbringing, the type of parents/guardians and their influence on one will determine their success or failure in life.
  4. Timing, having a set of unique skills doesn't determine your success unless you live in a time the skills are valued.
  5. Meaningful work, is a successful work that has a relationship between autonomy, complexity and a rule of reward and effort in order to have impactful success.
  6. Effort, 10,000 hrs of practice elevates the chances of greater success.

The above factors all are co-dependent.
