Well, like I said, I don't know much, but... I definitely think there's a stigma amongst children who get abused, which causes them to not speak up amongst adults who they trust. Either that, or they can put so much trust in the abusive adults in their lives despite the abuse since it's something they've known for as long as they can remember. I don't think there will ever be enough education to children about what it is okay for adults to do to them, such as reprimanding within reason (grounding, non-violent alternatives, etc.) and what is not (calling them names, punching them, grabbing them inappropriately, etc.).
