In order for the childreen to be balance in the see saw, each torque they produce should be equal in order for them to balance. Torque is equal to mass times distance

Since jacques weight is W and at L

And gilles weight is w and at L1

wL1 = WL

L1 = WL/w is the position of gilles for them to balance
