Ibn Khaldun was a Muslim historian, sociologist, philosopher, economist, and statesman from North Africa who lived in the 14th century. He is considered the father of modern sociology and his studies influenced in Political Science and Philosophy of History. Ibn Khaldun is famous for writing Al-Muqaddima or Prolegomena, an introduction to universal history, where he studies the history of many peoples, including, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, and Berbers, among others, using the scientific method.
