This is because the educational philosophy of Washington created a qualified workforce and black workers able to have freedom and economic self-sufficiency, since they were taught to have professions and integrate into the working class, increasing their independence. However, the educational philosophy defended by Du Bois, gave blacks respect, academic sufficiency and sufficient knowledge to seek improvements for the black population, including wage improvements and fair working conditions.
