Rate of change a rate that describes how one quantity changes in relation to another quantity. It is also called the slope. To calculate the rate of change in temperature, we use the expression:
Rate of change = change in temperature / change in time
Rate of change = -25.5 / 1.5
Rate of change = -17 °C / min
The negative sign signifies a drop in temperature per minute.
