As per given,

r+b=50         (i)

4.50r + 2.80b= 3.14(50)

⇒4.50r + 2.80b=157        (ii)

Multiply (i) by 2.80, we get

2.80r+2.80b=140     (iii)

Now, subtract  (iii) from (ii), we get

1.7r = 17

⇒ r= 10

Put this in (1), we get

Hence, quantity of raisins = 10 pounds, quantity of bran flakes = 40pounds.
