1. The colonists felt unhappy as they felt their money was being taken to only benefit the government, not the people.

2. The first thing they tried to boycott the tea taxes and did not pay the outrageous tea taxes.

3. After they saw that this was not working they decided to take more drastic measures and dressed up as mohawk indians and raid a ship filled with tea and dump the tea into the boston harbor, which is when this event is called the boston tea party.
