A 2000ft long fence will be used to enclose a rectangular field that is three times as long as long as it wide. What is the length of the field?

perimeter of a rectangle formula : P = 2(L + W)

P = 2000
L = 3W

now we sub

2000 = 2(3W + W)
2000 = 2(4W)
2000 = 8W
2000/8 = W
250 = W

L = 3W
L = 3(250)
L = 750

so ur length (L) = 750 ft and ur width (W) = 250 ft
