DISCLIAIMER: I took some of these points off of other answers I saw (to a question similar to yours) because I was having difficulty formulating a paragraph, I hope that is okay with you.

Coates explains the value of videogames in the modern world and there effect on the people playing them. He says, "Like most of my generation, I was raised on video games. Like most of my generation, I assumed that this obsession would pass at the proper time-say when I turned 30. But like most of my generation, I was wrong." This passage tells the reader that, in the beginning, no one expected the impact of video games to be so influential and continue throughout the generations. However, video games remain and are a big part of this generation's day to day life. As the player grows, the video games that these people play stay the same. Video games are still youthful and fun for these older generations of players, a never-ending cycle of nostalgia. Coates supports these details with his encounters with video games, making it evident what he thinks. He sees it as an endless imagination experience, and the time spent in that virtual fantasy is priceless.
