Abigail Adams' letter shows that she was concerned about the position that women were occupying in society. She shows that she fears that men will forget their importance in the struggle for independence and asks that her husband, John Adams, do not allow men to ignore and diminish the importance of women in the struggle.
She fears that establishing a political power evidencing only the power of men, will facilitate the existence of authoritarianism that will limit the freedom that was won with so much effort. In addition, she says that if women are diminished and excluded from this government, she herself will organize a rebellion of women to reverse this situation.
Last but not least, she is concerned about the new code of laws, which she believes is not very generous to people, especially women.
