The Invasion of Normandy or D-Day was a huge victory for the Allies, as it pushed German troops out of France.
During World War II, Germany started pushing forward and wanted control of France. By this time, many German troops were in France. The Allies obviously did not want this and needed to come up with a plan to push them out.
Germany knew that the Allies would strike, but they did not know where they would come from. This was part of the Allies' plan. They wanted to trick Germany into thinking they would attack north, but in reality, they came from the coast with immense forces.
The Allies stormed the coast and invaded Normandy with all they had, pushing Germany out of France. This was a huge win for the Allies and turned the tables in who was winning World War II.
