A cold wave hit Chicago when the temperature was 62F. During the cold wave, the temperature dropped 2 degrees every hour. How many hours was it before the temperature was below 40F?

10 i subtracted 2 from 62 and kept going on subtracting the number I got.

y=-2x+62 
Plug 40 in for y
40=-2x+62
And solve for x
-22=-2x (I subtracted 62 from both sides)
x=11
