When you multiply an exponent directly to a base with an exponent, you multiply the exponents together. If you have multiple bases, you multiply the exponent to each base.
For example:

[tex](4y^2)^3[/tex] or [tex](4^1y^2)^3=4^{(1*3)}y^{(2*3)}=4^3y^6=64y^6[/tex] (multiply the exponent to each base, 4 and y)
[tex](x^2w^3)^2=x^{(2*2)}w^{(3*2)}=x^4w^6[/tex]
[tex](2x^4y^4)^4[/tex]
[tex]2^{(1*4)}x^{(4*4)}y^{(4*4)}=2^4x^{16}y^{16}[/tex]
[tex]16x^{16}y^{16}[/tex] 16x^(16)y^(16) is your answer
